Headteacher's welcome

We would like to welcome you to Edenbridge Primary School.   Set in the heart of Edenbridge town centre, Edenbridge Primary School is a two form entry school, serving our busy community.

We have high expectations for all our children at Edenbridge Primary School. We want them to be happy and successful, and we are committed to giving every individual child a chance to develop their talents, whatever they may be. We are determined to help children achieve whether they are academic high flyers or those in need of a little more support. At the same time we offer opportunities for everyone to participate, and excel, in a diverse range of after school activities.

We believe that children should be given the chance to succeed in a secure and reassuring environment. Our aim is to help the children become self-confident and independent individuals who respect themselves, others and the world in which they live.

Our school site has three playgrounds, a playing field, an ICT suite, a library and two halls to ensure that we are able to provide a great learning environment for our pupils.  In 2018, we were really excited to open a purpose built EYFS block which will ensure we are able to give our youngest pupils a first class start to their primary schooling.

In July 2018, we became part of The Pioneer Academy, whose motto is “Safe - Happy - Learning". All members of staff aim to promote an extraordinary school day to develop independence and creativity; our learning and teaching policy has been developed to translate this into practice, for all staff and children.

From September 2018, our stimulating and inspiring curriculum will be based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).  This gives our children a good knowledge and understanding of the world, as well as underpinning some key skills.  The IPC has 8 Personal Goals which underpin those qualities and learning dispositions we believe children will find essential in their future life. These are:  Adaptability, Communication, Co-operation, Enquiry, Morality, Resilience, Respect and Thoughtfulness.  Opportunities for children to experience and practice these are built into the learning tasks within each unit of work, and referenced at the end of every task to signpost opportunities for teachers to further develop them.

If you would like to know more about the school, why not contact the school office on 01732 863787 and arrange a visit.  We would welcome the opportunity for you to see the many amazing learning opportunities we have at Edenbridge Primary School.

Kind regards,

Miss Mary Gates
